An Introduction to Hot Tub Care

Matt Giovanisci:

Hey, everyone, and welcome to hot tubs 101 by Swim University, where we help keep your hot tub clean and clear all year. My name is Matt, and I'm the founder of swimuniversity.com. And on this episode, we're just talking about what is hot tubs 101, and what is this podcast all about? So let's jump in. Real quick.

Matt Giovanisci:

If you want more help taking care of your hot tub, be sure to grab our free hot tub cheat sheet at swimu.com/spasheet. Okay. So what is this show? Who is this show for? The show, if you see the cover of the show, it is for people who own hot tubs or people who take care of hot tubs.

Matt Giovanisci:

Now maybe you're somebody who runs a company where you take care of other people's hot tubs. This show is also for you. And in this show, it's just me. I've been in this industry for, oof, I don't even know the number of years, but it's been since 1993, and it is gonna be 2024. So it's been a while.

Matt Giovanisci:

And I have been running swimuniversity.com. I started it back in 20 2006. Oh my God. It's been a long time. And I so so when I first started the the site, my my goal was simply to create a pool and hot tub care tutorials for everyone for free.

Matt Giovanisci:

And now we have courses, and and we have a YouTube channel. We have the website, obviously, swimuniversity.com. We have a Pinterest account. We have Facebook. We have, TikToks.

Matt Giovanisci:

We have Instagram. We have all this stuff. And now we have, 2 podcasts for this brand, for Swim University. We have Pool School. So if you own a swimming pool and you wanna learn about how to take care of a swimming pool, you can, check out Pool School.

Matt Giovanisci:

And And this is Hot Tubs 101, which is all about hot tub care. And so each episode going forward after this initial episode, each episode's gonna tackle a different topic in hot tub maintenance, hot tub care, all with the goal of making your life a lot easier, making water chemistry a lot simpler to understand, and saving you money in the process. So each episode will cover a different topic. And the reason that we even decided to do a podcast, and it's been, you know, we've been running Swim University for a long time, and in fact, a little behind the scenes, Swim University is simply me, my wife, and my brother. So my wife, she's in charge of our YouTube channel.

Matt Giovanisci:

So if you've ever seen our YouTube videos about hot tub care or even pool care, that is all of that's my wife. She does all of that. She writes the scripts. I, of course, do the voiceovers and I'm on camera and I'm on the thumbnails, but after I'm done recording those, she takes it, she edits it, and she puts it out. She answers all your comments.

Matt Giovanisci:

She gets ideas from your comments for for new videos. She is fully in charge of that. My brother is in charge of all things social media. So when you see our reels or our short videos, our vertical videos, those are all done by my brother, Chris. So that's it.

Matt Giovanisci:

That's the whole team. It's just me and my wife and my brother, and we all do this full time. So this is our this is our gig. And our goal, you know, 2024 moving on, is to provide the best education when it comes to pool and hot tub care as best we can in every single format that we're that we're good at. And so we realize, or at least I know, I realize that, like, people like to learn in different ways.

Matt Giovanisci:

Personally, I am a visual learner. I like using video to learn. So when I'm when I need to learn something, I go on YouTube, I type it in, boom, I learn it. Some people like to read. Some people like to read books.

Matt Giovanisci:

I I too like to read books about certain topics. Other people like to listen to learn. They're audio learners. And so I am not one of those people, but I have been podcasting for a long time. I've had multiple podcasts over the years, and I have studied a little bit of broadcasting.

Matt Giovanisci:

And so, I figured, you know what? If we're going to provide hot tub and pool care tutorials to everybody and every different type of of education platform there is, why not try a podcast? Why not do podcasting and make it available via audio? So that's what this show is. And it's gonna be just me.

Matt Giovanisci:

I'm gonna go over specific topics. But if you have any questions about hot tub care, you can email me matt@swimmingiversity.com. I can I will answer you via email, or I may turn it into an episode if you allow me? So that would be great. I may do question episodes in between, you know, individual topics, which would be really fun.

Matt Giovanisci:

But that's it. That's what this show is. And again, if you have any questions, just email me matt@swimuniversity.com.
